OK so this is not necessarily genealogy, unless you think of the many recipes our Mom's or Grandma's made that just shout 'comfort' food to us. The US is also made up of immigrants who brought their own recipes, same as Canadians. So you can choose a State, or even just an area populated by your family ethnicity, and maybe you will find a recipe that reminds you of *that* special food. If you're recipes are like my Mom's they read like this: Flour, butter, eggs, cream. Bake.
