Thanks so much to my friend Bruce Gordon for creating maps to help us use Find A Grave Canada!!
I look forward to using this ... a LOT!!!! Isn't it amazing the talented, sharing people we have in our midst?
http://www.craigmyle.ca/fag/
So tonight is my last night at home as we head out tomorrow for the far east coast of Canada - partially through the USA to check out various cemeteries where I my family now reside in Michigan right on the shores of Lake Huron. Hoping for no wind or rain that day!! I'll not likely get time to do any blogging as we'll be travelling almost every single day. If you ever want to get a grip on just exactly how BIG our country is, try plotting a trip from here to there. hahaha Wish us God speed!!
Cheers,
Pat
These courses will appeal to genealogists/family historians looking for education/knowledge that will take them beyond just their ancestors names, and birth, marriage, death dates/locations. The courses are all fun because Pat makes them that way! Pat has been teaching and speaking at seminars for 18 years from Whitehorse to Scotland. She continues to write new courses and will be offering courses again in Fall 2017 through Arcola East Community Association Regina, and online!!

Read and click through the site. Be sure to not miss the Special Interest Groups on the right side. Amazing job folks! Thanks!!

The Woman Who Gave Birth for Hitler
This is a story I've never heard before, and I'm sorry I've heard it now. I guess it's a good reminder of 'superiority', and what lengths some people will take to achieve it. Disgusting in my opinion, and so sad. It also brings up an interesting DNA question. http://www.historyextra.com/article/feature/woman-who-gave-birth-hitler

Once Removed? Second cousins? The EASY Answer
So everyone is confused when it comes to cousins - first cousin, second cousin, once removed, twice removed? How to tell? Amy Johnson Crow has made a lovely short video where she explains it very clearly in a couple minutes. She has made other videos as well, so this link takes you to all of them. The only one I've watched is "How to calculate how two people are related". https://www.facebook.com/AmyJohnsonCrow/videos. Thanks Amy!

New Records at FindMyPast
Interesting set of border crossing records this week. There are also available at Ancestry and familysearch, but different numbers of records available from each! Just a valuable reminder to search ALL records available to us! You might be surprised to find something new from any one of these record sets. The link to FMP is http://tracking.findmypast.co.uk/track?t=v&enid=ZWFzPTEmbXNpZD0xJmF1aWQ9Jm1pZD05ODkxMzEmbXNnaWQ9Mjg3OTg5JmRpZD0xMDg5MzImZWRpZD0xMDg5MzImc249MTY4MTUxMTcmZWlkPWNvbmZpZGVudGlhbDQ4QGdtYWlsLmNvbSZlZWlkPWNvbmZpZGVudGlhbDQ4QGdtYWlsLmNvbSZ1aWQ9Rk1QSUU0MDAwNjgzMDYmdGFyZ2V0aWQ9Jm1uPSZyaWQ9MTk0MyZlcmlkPTE5NDMmZmw9MCZtdmlkPTAmdGdpZD0mZXh0cmE9&&&2015&eu=1500&&&
You can find links to other two companies by a quick Google search. I'm trying really, really hard to get you to think to use Google first!! You cannot imagine how many times I'm send a request for help/direction etc, when people could have found the answer themselves by doing a Google search. Not complaining folks, just reminding!!!! Somewhat loudly?! haha
